I love all the repeating forms in these. The parallel lines of the bridge, the triangles in the parking garage, the arches of the grasses. I think having them be black-and-white makes the shapes more important.
I looked at the bridge for a while before I noticed there’s snow on it. The softness of the snow is a nice counterpoint to the industrial iron heft of the bridge.
I actually think the parking garage is my favorite of these pictures. Something about the abstract composition of it, and the clean lines, makes it feel serene.

Yeah it’s been a while since I took those bridge pictures. I’m that behind on posting I guess. But I agree, and my favorite of them is the one with the swing bridge where the end is hanging out over the pylons in the water.
That and the garage one are my favorites. There are a lot of choices in that garage one: the proportion of black on top relative to the bottom, the position of the peaks on the right, leaving in the A pilar of the car as a curvy gesture… I’m glad you think it worked. I felt a bit nervous about it but decided to go with my gut and call it good enough to post.

Update: I was just revisiting this set and found another I liked of the bridges, and more I liked from my trip to Dallas. So I’m moving the garage photo you were commenting on to its own post.
