Muir Woods

My third and final day in CA: First, what weird and wonderful clouds greeted me for breakfast! And then friends drove me up to Muir woods, where I planned to do the reverse of what I’d done the day before. So I did a loop starting at the visitor’s center to return to base via the Miwok. I love the patterns in the bark here.

And returning over the Dipsea trail, I captured some moody moments.

But on returning to base, there was this: not the most spectacular sunset, but a nice pano of San Francisco to the South.

  1. Those clouds are delightfully marshmallow-ish. I like the tree bark looking like shaggy hair. I love the tree branches framing the green bower — like an illustration for Tuck Everlasting. But the panorama is my favorite here.
