Captain Sergeant

Christmas Tree shopping at our local farm, I found myself fascinated with a shed roof. I’ve decided to use manual focus for a while. I’ve been feeling let down more and more by autofocus, especially in low light which I’ve been doing more of. At the same time, I realized I’m afraid of manual focus. I’ve also been hanging out in aperture priority. But again, I’m starting to feel let down by it, so I’m also spending more time in manual.

And then on Sunday I took a walk in one of our local woods, called the “Captain Sergeant woods”, where I encountered what looks to me to be an old chicken coop, and not far further an upturned car. I love finding the remains of things in the woods.

  1. I just threw away a picture of a car that belonged to my great grandparents. It was in a stone pit with an old variety of Apple tree hanging over it. It. was a great idea of a photo, but not a great photo. When we got Jeannette and Nick their first cameras, we got them manuals.
