Muddy Pond

J set up a camping trip for the kids as part of Marlowe’s camping rehabilitation, wherein J dreams of convincing Marlowe that camping isn’t complete misery. Marlowe’s first evidence to the contrary: the clouds of gnats. But Ellis, inspired by my most recent expedition to Sherman’s Bridge, is stalking the sunsets. Maybe when he gets a chance to edit his shots I’ll convince him to let me post them here. For now, these will have to suffice.

First, the obligatory sunsets, with all the sky drama:

18mm (Sony E 18 – 135) 1/50th sec f/9.0 ISO 200
18mm (Sony E 10 – 18) 1/200th sec f/9.0 ISO 100

And although I am not tired of sunsets and sunrises, I want to keep exploring. So here’s this truck we encountered on the trail, which winds through logged fields, abandoned roads, and operating farms. I’m guessing this guy got left in a back yard and the forest just grew up around it.

And here is the forest canopy in a couple of versions, because I also want to practice abstracts.

18mm (Sony E 18 – 135) 1.3 sec f/10 ISO 200
18mm (Sony E 18 – 135) 20 sec f/10 ISO 200
