An Evening at Sherman’s Bridge Sudbury, MA

So far I’ve neglected my wide angle Sony 10 – 18mm lens. I just love my 18 – 135 so much… and the wide angle needs so much correction… but this is me putting things right by using the wide angle as much as the other. This also is me trying to get a better hang of focus, and focus stacking. Learned a trick about taking a picture of my hand between scenes to mark out which shots are exposure bracketed with different focus points for stacking in post processing. It’s helpful, for sure, but you have to remember to do it consistently.

These first few are not dramatic. They just feel simple and calming.

50mm (Sony E 18 – 135) 1/320 sec f/9.0 ISO 100
50mm (Sony E 18 – 135) 1/250 f/9.0 ISO 100

Let’s make this my first titled photo:

“The Graces”
106mm (Sony 18 – 135) 1/250 sec ISO 100

And now the drama…

10mm (Sony E 10 – 18) 1/500 sec f/9.0 ISO 100

Should this be cropped at the root of the tree in the foreground? It feels ill balanced. But then… I just couldn’t bear to lose any of that reflection in the water. The turbulence at the edge of the cloud bank, which in the reflection crosses the bottom right quadrant, is just fantastic.
